Report from Troop Log
16 Scouts, Ian Fraser, Fraser MacLeod and SM W. Hill cycled to Glen Masson after crossing to the Dunoon by the 2 o’clock steamer (Queen Mary II).
From Dunoon Pier, we cycled over the hill (lochan) road to Sandbank, round the head of the Holy Loch off then up Glen Masson to the Falls, where we scrambled over the rocks for half an hour and had a picnic.
Coming back, we came round the Sandbank coast road to Hunter’s Quay from where we got the 5.43 steamer (Marchioness of Lorn) back to Gourock.
The weather was dry and sunny, but there was a very strong wind blowing up the Holy Loch which was dead against us going to Hunter’s Quay.
While waiting for the steamer at Hunters Quay, 14 bottles of lemonade were consumed.
Expenses worked out at 1/10d per boy (Half price).
